Short Stories Ogham Barware

Short Stories Ogham Barware

Ireland is a country of words. Spoken, written or sung, the Irish are famously verbose. A social people known for their warmth,
conviviality and generosity, the Irish live in the spirit of togetherness and sharing.

The Short Stories barware tale continues with a series of special tumblers featuring the Celtic alphabet of the ancient Irish, known as Ogham. Ogham is an early medieval alphabet used to write the early Irish language and later the Old Irish language. Inspired by the ancient Irish God of Ogham or “God of Eloquence.”

Originally the language was carved into rocks, composed of 25 unique symbols, and is to be read from bottom to top. There are only 400 stone monuments inscribed with the ancient Ogham in Ireland and Britain with majority of the Irish ones to be found in Counties Kerry, Cork and Waterford. Waterford celebrates Irish Heritage using Ogham to express four key sentiments on this new barware collection: Happiness, Joy, Love and Peace.
