The Story Behind Lismore

A New Light on Lismore

Lismore was first created in 1952 by Chief Designer Miroslav Havel, who drew inspiration from the symmetry and Gothic forms of Ireland’s historic Lismore Castle. Its distinctive arrangement of diamond- and wedge-cuts has remained unchanged for more than seventy years.

Today, we present Lismore through a fresh lens — styled for contemporary spaces while honoring the craft that shaped its past.

Each piece reflects the same precision that defined the original pattern, now rediscovered in new contexts, new moments, and new ways of living.

Rooted in Ireland

Lismore Castle, with its towers, arches, and intricate stonework, inspired the geometry that defines the Lismore pattern. Havel translated those architectural details into a cut that has endured for generations.

The pattern’s structure — balanced, rhythmic, and unmistakable — continues to reflect its origins without needing to change.

This campaign revisits that legacy, placing Lismore in settings where its familiar brilliance takes on new life. In sunlight, at the table, or in everyday rituals, Lismore reveals fresh character when seen from a modern perspective.

Craft in Every Cut

With its arrangement of diamond and wedge cuts, Lismore creates depth and clarity that shift with every angle of light.

The precision of the cut is what gives the pattern its presence — structured yet fluid, traditional yet continually relevant.

Up close, the geometry feels intricate; from afar, harmonious. This duality is what has made Lismore an enduring part of homes around the world.

As it moves into contemporary settings, the pattern reveals new dimension, capturing light in ways that feel both familiar and newly discovered.

Made to Live On

Lismore is crafted not only to be admired but to be used — raised in celebration, shared at a table, or styled as part of a home.

Made from lead-free crystal and shaped with Waterford’s enduring precision, each piece carries weight, brilliance, and clarity.
